Conflict Management in Multicultural Teams
This course helps workers and future team leaders handle conflict in multicultural teams in Japan. You will learn common sources of conflict, such as high-context communication, honne and tatemae, time, religion, workload and senpai–kouhai relationships, and how to spot early signs. You will compare five approaches to conflict, practise raising issues with facts, I-messages and Japanese cushion words, and learn where to take a problem, including support organizations and public services. The course also covers harassment, dormitory life, reconciliation and rebuilding trust, with practical case studies.
